Rachel Grage outraises primary opponents by more than 4-to-1 margin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Rachel Grage, Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida’s 5th District against Republican incumbent John Rutherford, raised $87,177 in the second quarter of 2026, far outpacing both of her primary opponents. To date she has raised $248,286 and has $112,827 cash-on-hand ahead of the August 18 primary.
It is the third consecutive quarter in which Grage has vastly out-raised the Democratic primary field, a sign of steady and growing support across the district.
“Our support does not come from Washington, DC-insiders or corporate special interests. It comes from local families right here in the district who are tired of the rising costs, corruption in broad daylight, and nonstop chaos brought on by the Trump Administration and enthusiastically aided and abetted by John Rutherford,” said Rachel Grage.
Grage’s campaign has garnered support from more than 700 individual contributions, with roughly 90 percent coming from within Florida’s 5th District. Campaign officials point to that local base as evidence of genuine grassroots momentum rather than support driven from outside the district.
“People are demanding a representative who shows up, answers questions, and actually delivers,” continued Grage. “Our support comes from hard-working Floridians who want representatives in Washington to work for them, not an insider-stock-trader and war-profiteer like John Rutherford.”
Grage, an engineer, healthcare professional, former military spouse, and mother of four, has built her campaign around three priorities: lowering everyday costs for working families, restoring accountability in Washington, and defending democracy and constitutional oversight. Her healthcare background has anchored a persistent focus on affordability, from insurance stability to prescription drug costs.
Her campaign points to fundraising successes as positioning her to compete aggressively in a district trending toward Democrats and winnable with adequate resources.
