Let’s show Rutherford the door!

What a night! Thank you to those entrusted us with their votes, to our volunteers and our campaign team!

And to my family, especially my four children, thank you for sharing me with this campaign. We are honored and humbled to be the Democratic nominee for Congress in Florida’s 5th District.

Today, our work continues, as we have just 76 days until the election.

We must continue to build our movement to make Florida affordable for our families… to hold the Trump family and the Epstein-class accountable for their corruption… and to finally end the chaos in Washington.

And, we must defeat our do-nothing, no-town-hall-holding, MAGA sycophant, insider-stock-trading Congressman, John Rutherford!

On day one, we will join the End Corruption Caucus and get to work holding the powerful accountable for their fraud and crimes. We will prohibit members of Congress from trading stocks. We will vote to overturn Citizens United so we can get corporate dark money out of politics. And, we will demand the full release of the Epstein files and accountability for those wealthy elites who trafficked young girls.

We will follow the constitution by passing the War Powers Act and ending Donald Trump’s stupid, deadly, costly forever-war with Iran.

We will work to stop ICE from deploying untrained, masked ICE agents in our streets… from building for-profit detention centers… and using gloves that electrocute people. We can and must secure our borders and pass immigration reform with clear and obtainable pathways to citizenship.

And we must fix our broken for-profit healthcare system that is bankrupting Florida families and leaving far too many uninsured. We can restore the Affordable Care Act subsidies to provide immediate relief and begin the work of restoring Trump’s devastating healthcare cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Affairs.

But these are just bandaids. The time has come for us to join the rest of the world in providing universal healthcare — including dental, hearing and vision — to every American.

DONATE TO RACHEL!

“There’s something uniquely despicable about lying a nation into war.” — Sen. Jon Ossoff

President Trump lied us into a war.

When this war started, John Rutherford proclaimed it was “perfectly executed” and praised the “brave men and women in uniform.”

Since that day — February 28, 2026 — John Rutherford hasn’t said a word publicly about the Iran war.

Now there are harrowing reports about the lack of food, drinking water, and physical and mental health issues plaguing the 5,000 sailors aboard the USS Lincoln.

Shouldn’t a member of Congress who serves on the all-powerful House Committee on Appropriations say something? Maybe demand accountability from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth?

Northeast Florida is home to thousands of Navy veterans and their families. As a former military spouse, I can absolutely relate to the terror and anguish these sailors’ families are feeling as reports of their abysmal, life-threatening conditions continue to come to light.

So, yes, lying a nation into war is “uniquely despicable”... but so is holding a position of power and doing absolutely nothing.

Unlike Rutherford, I want to be a representative who shows up, listens, and works for the people who sent her there.

Those have been our priorities from the beginning: affordability, accountability, and protecting our democracy.

I’m an engineer. I’m trained to look at complicated problems and figure out how to solve them.

I’m also a mom of four, so I know those problems aren’t theoretical.

They’re the grocery bill. The insurance renewal. The prescription at the pharmacy. The mortgage payment. The future we’re trying to build for our children.

That’s what I want Congress focused on.

And to Democrats, Republicans, independents, and everyone who is simply tired of Washington not working for them: there is a place for you in this campaign.

You don’t have to agree with me on everything.

But we can agree that our representative should show up, answer questions, respect the Constitution, protect our rights, and fight for Northeast Florida.

Last night, we celebrated. Today, we get back to work.

Because this country is worth the work, this district is worth fighting for, and together, we’re going to take this campaign all the way to November.

Think like an engineer. Fight like a mom.

To win in November we must Grage Against the Machine! Volunteer… get your Rachel gear… and pitch in what you can: $5, $20, $50 or whatever you can spare will help us show John Rutherford the door!

In solidarity — Rachel Grage
